Description
Sup guys, I've been wanting to upload the mound of sketches I've been doing for Gates of Gotham but I for obvious reason thats not possible right now, under pain of death. So I thought at the very least I'd show you the route I'm taking Dick as Batman.
I know I'm gonna get a lot of flack form Bat "purists" but I really wanted not only put a different spin on him but also make a clear distinction between Dick Grayson "Batman", and Bruce Wayne "Batman (should he appear).
I wanted Dick's costume to resemble more the Chris Nolan movie version of Batman; more practical, sleeker, more athletic so I used a similar ear postion, I enclosed more of the face, chin and mouth, and also added a "venting" detail on the sides of the mask.
Bruces on the other hand, (should he appear) is more of the abstract version of Batman, the demon, the extreme. So of course it's more of what you'd expect the long ears wide jaw and more demonic silhouette.
I hope you guys are into it!!
First issue is in the can so it's onto issue 2

very nice. i agree, there is such a difference between bruce and dick and it's not really seen with some artisits. for some reason the prodigal story line popped into my head. you really couldn't tell the difference between bruce and dick as bats. but i like this direction, for both of them, even though i prefer dick as nightwing. but dick would feel a responsibility to take the cowel, sort of like a son who takes over for the family farm because it's what he's always been expected to do.
sorry, dick is, after all, my favorite character. ah well. great job, will have to put aside my issues on the direction batman has been taking recently and track down the issues.
